Key Performance Areas:

Assist with tender programming:

  • Review the scope of the tender work as well as restrictions
  • Gain a full understanding of the physical parameters/constraints, codes, laws and customs of where the project is to be constructed
  • Prepare a plan based on the clients’ expectations, estimated start dates and durations
  • Provide guidelines on the most cost-effective utilisation of resources to build the project
  • Prepare an initial plan by using the Candy system or other as required
  • Allocate resources as per the requirements and review Histograms
  • Ensure a full understanding of the project scope, site parameters, site conditions, equipment and manpower required

 

Create, maintain, review and administer construction schedules and programs:

  • Create a construction schedule and plan per project and gain approval for base lining the program
  • Consider durations, scheduling, relationships, lags, constraints and logic to derive the critical path based on planning best practices
  • Ensure a full understanding of the time it takes to order, fabricate and deliver long lead equipment items and material for the project
  • Adhere to all safety issues, concerns, and practices for a safe working environment according to governing law, construction
  • Include specified provisional sums and long lead information, the qualifications of the subcontractors and their ability to perform
  • Review and administer all activities with Contracts Manager
  • Maintain schedules and keeps project resources on track according to planning methodologies
  • Update schedules regularly and provides feedback to Project Managers
  • Assist with problem-solving and reviewing of schedules when challenges arise – schedules adjustments or amendments
  • Account for and records delays to the schedule and analyses the impacts of those delays and as required
  • Propose amended program for new revision and base-lining
  • Confer with Managers to adjust budgets and resource allocations
  • Monitor and flag any risks that may impede construction progress / completion
  • Perform monthly program updates

 

Manage variations on current projects and provides input and support for claims:

  • Assist the Contracts Manager with variation orders arising from scope increases or changes
  • Assist Contracts Managers with the preparation of required documents for claims process
  • Prepare an updated schedule based on the baseline to see how it will affect the timeframe and resources
  • Confer with Managers to adjust budgets and resource allocations
  • Ensure that the project and progress is correctly recorded and communicated

 

Customer service:

  • Maintain contact with Contracts Managers and Site Agents to monitor job progress
  • Attend to all queries in a professional manner and communicates feedback to relevant stakeholders, such as the MD, CM, QS and Professional Team
  • Provide a best practice service and build sustainable relationships with key parties
