Job Position: Financial Controller

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A solid background in Accounting or Finance (Degree/Diploma preferred) with a mastery of the Trial Balance
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and Pastel/Sage
  • Experience with AI automation tools or ERP systems highly advantageous
  • Highly detail-oriented professional who understands that accuracy fuels the ROI models in FP&A
  • Ability to liaise confidently across departments and handle the pressure of month-end deadlines with ease

Key Performance Areas:

Strategic financial engineering

  • Own capital discipline: Drive ROI modelling per campaign and conduct deep-dive margin analysis per SKU to ensure every cent works for us
  • Performance optimization: monitor the cash conversion cycle and implement controls to plug cost leakage
  • Tech integration: identify and implement AI and automation tools to streamline repetitive finance workflows

 

Core accounting and reporting

  • Trial balance mastery: analyse TB data to produce final financial reporting and high-level costing spreadsheets
  • Full function bookkeeping: manage the cashbook, process AP/AR (debtors and creditors), capture invoices, and ensure precise payment allocation
  • Management support: Assist the Financial Manager and National Bookkeeper with monthly management accounts, budgeting, and statutory compliance

 

Operational excellence

  • Working capital management: follow up on outstanding accounts and resolve complex financial queries with suppliers and clients
  • Audit and compliance: maintain a bulletproof audit trail, ensuring all records meet company policies and relevant financial regulations
  • Collaborative support: provide administrative muscle to the finance team and act as a key point of contact for External Auditors
