The calling over process is a critical quality control step to identify errors before the Annual Financial Statements (AFS) are issued to clients. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the AFS is accurate, complete, consistent, and professionally presented, as errors reflect negatively on the firm.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Must have an understanding of the applicable accounting frameworks(IFRS), ensuring that the AFS aligns with these frameworks

Key Performance Areas:

• Perform casting of the final AFS and review DataSnipper outputs for accuracy

• Clearly mark any issues identified and update typing instructions with initials and date

• Call all pages of the AFS from cover page to final page, checking spelling, wording, consistency, page numbering, classifications, reconciliations, and cross-references between the SOCI, SOFP, cash flows, and notes

• Ensure the SOFP balances and that all amounts agree across statements and notes

• Reperform and review cash flow calculations where possible and confirm alignment with the SOFP

• Escalate uncertainties or potential impacts on the AFS
