Job Position: Short-term Insurance Broker

Salary: R15 000 – R20 000 per month (depending on experience and qualification)

Hours: Monday to Friday 08h00 – 16h00

You will manage personal and commercial insurance lines, ensuring clients receive tailored risk mitigation solutions. Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate
  • Vibrant, energetic personality with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and standard insurance brokerage software

Advantageous:

  • Industry experience – 1 to 3 years of proven experience within South African short-term insurance brokerages
  • Regulatory compliance: Passed RE5 (Regulatory Examination for Representatives) certificate
  • Formal qualifications: FETC in Short-term Insurance (NQF Level 4) or a Higher Certificate in Insurance (NQF Level 5)
  • DOFA status: Clear date of First Appointment status with the FSCA

Key Performance Areas:

  • Client portfolio management: Serve as the primary point of contact for personal and commercial policyholders, providing expert advice on risk management
  • New business and quotations: Source, analyse and prepare competitive short-term insurance quotes tailored to client needs
  • Policy administration: Process new policies, policy renewals, endorsements and mid-term amendments accurately
  • Claims management: Facilitate the end-to-end claims process, acting as a liaison between the client and underwriters to ensure swift resolution
  • Retention and renewals: Review annual policies proactively to optimise coverage and maintain high client-retention rates
  • Compliance and record keeping: Ensure all advice and documentation comply fully with FSCA regulations and internal quality standards
