Qualifications / Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources / Legal or related field
- Proven working experience as HR Manager or Senior HR Officer
- Strong understanding of labour laws and HR best practices
- Must have proven experience in payroll (will be overseeing large payroll)
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills, with good work ethic and exceptional communication skills (preferably able to communicate well in Afrikaans and English)
- Must be able to work independently and cope under pressure
- Resilient, pro-active and reliable
Key Performance Areas:
- This role will handle full HR responsibilities, from cradle to grave
- Training and development
- Recruitment and staffing: Overseeing the entire talent acquisition process, from drafting job descriptions to interviewing and onboarding
- Employee relations: Acting as a liaison between management and employees, addressing grievances, resolving conflicts, and conducting investigations
- Policy and compliance: Developing and enforcing company policies and ensuring compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and health/safety standards
- Manage the Department: Define clear roles within the HR team for efficiency, train and monitor the team
- Performance management: Designing and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance including reviews, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms
- Compensation and benefits: Overseeing the payroll submissions and compensation structures
- Strategy: Support departments in developing and delivering strategic HR plans that fit with the overall business direction
- Culture: Developing HR initiatives that align with company goals, improving employee retention, and fostering a positive workplace culture
- Compliance audits
