Qualifications / Requirements:

• Relevant fleet management experience

• Will require high level of dedication and must be available at all times via telephone and when required including weekends

• Valid drivers license and own reliable transport

• Experience in the below KPA’s

Key Performance Areas and relevant experience:

• Manage fleet production output to meet per-truck targets as set by management, aligned to specific routes

• Identify shortfalls and implement corrective measures to maintain consistent delivery performance across the fleet

• Ensure that every litre of diesel is accurately accounted for across all fleet vehicles

• Eliminate unnecessary “empty km” and enforce strict fuel discipline to control operating costs and maintain fuel efficiency benchmarks

• Leverage existing production and diesel consumption reports to analyse current fleet performance and individual driver performance

• Translate data into actionable decisions that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement initiatives

• Work closely with the Head Controller and Driver Trainer to manage all driver-related matters, including salary queries, disciplinary processes, and operational issues

• Take swift, decisive action on vehicle breakdowns, including the assessment of warranty versus non-warranty repair work

• Prioritise the minimisation of standing time

• Lead and manage a control room team comprising 12 Controllers and 1 Head Controller

• While the team handles day-to-day operational execution, assume full accountability for monitoring progress, following up on ETA’s, and ensuring operational targets are consistently met

• Oversee the complete invoicing and payment cycle from cradle to grave for all orders running under fleet
